Hemp oil vs. CBD oil: The small but Subtle Difference
The selection of cannabis and cannabis products has increased dramatically lately. On the one hand, of course, this is very pleasing because the different products are tailored to different needs. Above all, the large variety of oils can also be very confusing. Here we explain the main differences between CBD oil and hemp oil (often called hemp seed oil).
Especially on the Internet, it often happens that you are looking for CBD oil, but then proposed by a variety of shops hemp oils, which do not contain CBD. It is therefore not surprising that you can find many hemp oils with customer reviews, which read that they would have helped both pain and cancer. Others rate the same hemp oils as one star and complain that they have no effect whatsoever. Of course many companies point out that their hemp oils do not contain CBD. Nevertheless, unfortunately, especially because of the much lower price, it happens again and again that consumers erroneously resort to hemp oil, even though they are actually in search of CBD oil.
Visually, hempseed and CBD oils are relatively difficult to distinguish. However, depending on quality, age or preservation method, they may have a slightly lighter or darker color. In general, however, both have an intense, gold-green color. Below are the main differences.
The most striking difference between hemp oil and CBD oil is the plant species used and the parts of the plant from which the oil is obtained. Hemp seed oil, as the name suggests, is obtained by pressing hemp seed. This oil is particularly nutritious and can be used in a variety of ways, but it is not good for relieving discomfort. Hemp oil is legally available in most countries and is often sold in supermarkets, among other oils. Hemp seed oil is rich in proteins, polyunsaturated fatty acids, vitamin E and linoleic acid.
In contrast to hemp seed oil, CBD oil is extracted from the flowers of the cannabis plant. The flowers used are mostly so-called industrial hemp, as this can show a high CBD content, while the THC content is very low. Meanwhile CBD oil is used by a broad mass against a variety of different complaints. To date, however, it is hardly possible to accurately elucidate all the medicinal properties of CBD oil, as new applications have been discovered over the years.
